Re: Join The International Team

Hello team,

I concur, thank you everyone for staying here in The International Team!
I've been very busy but today has been a day off (midsummer eve). Traveled a bit with father to neighbour town.

Weather has cooled down quite a bit lately. 12 C yesterday and 16 C today with showers.

Re: Join The International Team

Yes, Sweden – as opposed to Denmark - had the longest day off. I’m glad you enjoyed it, flodisar.
I just checked: Speedy51 and DeliciousShoesHD are still hanging in there. Thank you guys smile
One of Base Camp’s better achievements of which we are very proud.
You will be invited to go on future treks with Base Camp from this home team of yours. And return to flodisar cool

Isn’t Midsummer when you have parties with crayfish (kräftor) and a good deal of booze?
I remember seeing a Swedish film
- about twice as old as you are now, flodisar.
which was very funny to begin with, but developed into something worser than ’Friday the 13th’
I looked for it without being sure of the name, but ’Att Angöra en Brygga’ seems to fit the bill.
Monica Zetterlund played and sang in it.
It’s been all too long since I listened to her – so looked up her Midsummer Celebration of the White Nights in Stockholm

In Denmark we celebrate midsummer tonight by having bonfires – this year they will be long and far between
because of the ongoing drought and ensuing fire hazard.
We use effigies of witches on broomsticks who on this night
– St. John’s Eve - a Danish variant of Walpurgis Night
are shipped off to Brocken in the Harz in Germany - I hope I'm still here tomorrow shock

Re: Join The International Team

You are almost correct Little Mermaid, midsummer certainly has a lot of food involved and booze, but crawlfish is mainly eaten after summer at the "kräftskiva".

However, I rarely follow these celebrations. Instead I am just happy to have a day off and spend it with my loved ones.
Also I am very really bad at Swedish films and I an not really a fan of them, but I much better like Danish and Norwegian movies.

Good news though - now I am the Team Captain! :)
JP - I hope we all can make you proud one day!

Thanks everyone for your support!

Re: Join The International Team

You're welcome, flodisar smile

Now I come to invite your two new members, Speedy51 and DeliciousShoesHD
to participate in Base Camp's trek to top40.nl.
I'll do my best to see to it that they return to The International Team again after one day, two days ...
They will earn this badge for putting in as little as one WU with top40.nl.
not available anywhere else biggrin

Should there be other members of Captain flodisar's team who would like to try out
Base Camping on our top40.nl 2.0 trek, we will receive them with open arms
hugs

Re: Join The International Team

Hello there,
This is Captain writing! :)

Sorry for having been absent - been busy and also had a business trip that I had to recover from.

Oh yes, we still have that Danish weather in Sweden as well! :)
There is one week left until some time off so I will be quite busy this week as well I suspect to get everything done to before that.

I hope you are all having a good summer (unless it's winter where you are) ! :)

- and then he went firefighting
with no time to update his team on
the heatwave rushing over Sweden
- Yes! Heatwave and Sweden in the same sentence
and numerous wildfires to fight
