yoro42,
----------------------------------------The topic problem ""HTTP error 0" is specific to some proxy users and only occurs from version 6.12.34 and all above into the development versions i.e. yours has nothing to do with this. 6.12.58 does not exist FAIK (it does not exist in the history). The highest of 6.12 on record is .43 which darkpella has already tested. --//-- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 1, 2012 8:28:12 PM] |

.... But anyway, that's not really important compared to the proxy issue persistence. Just want to be 100% on the relevant facts, else there is the semi regular mod lash "go complain at the project" (yes it makes my toes curl). --//-- Hi SekeRob, ain't actually got from your message whether I made "all of the relevant facts" clear, or you would need further information from me. Think I've got it all and will find out when the replies trickle in [not yet found a Trac ticket from previous report on the Berkeley forums... so much for reporting to the developers]. The a-list post sits in the draft queue ready to send.

Message from Rom Walton, developer at Berkeley:
----------------------------------------For those experiencing this issue, could you drop this version of libcurl into your BOINC install directory? x86: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/libcurl.10042012.x86.zip x64: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/libcurl.10042012.x64.zip Thanks in advance. ----- Rom For windows the programs are default in: 32 bit client: C:\Program Files(x86)\BOINC 64 bit client: C:\Program Files\BOINC You may need admin rights to copy these files into these folders. --//-- edit: For anyone not succeeding (who'd not guessed that zip files need to be unzipped ;-): 1. The content of the zip files has to be extracted to the BOINC program directory which is either C:\program files\ for 32+64 bit systems, or C:\program files(86)\BOINC if a 32 bit client was installed on a 64 bit Win-OS. Do this by unzipping first and then copying, often needing admin rights. 2. BOINC has to be restarted to read in the new libcurl files. By last word, 7.0.26 does not fix the problem, so try 7.0.27 if not wanting to mess with copying files and hoping for best. edit 2, June 20, 2012: 7.0.27 fixes this issue for clients behind certain proxies. The libcurl copy drop remains the fix or return to 6.12.33 or earlier if that's an option. W8 and latest Mac OS require 7.0.28/.29 though. Soon to be promoted [without a permanent fix I'd not be surprised]. Maybe knreed would want to kick sum butt through private channels to the developers. edit 3/4, June 30, 2012: 7.0.28 and up have the drop in libcurl included and are now confirmed to work by users.
